Real Madrid had a quite brilliant first half as trhey troubled the Barcelona defence all through the opening 45 minutes. Barcelona also created some good chances of their own in a thrilling first half.
On the resumption of the second half, it was the hosts Barcelona who enjoyed most of the possession as they rattled the Madrid defence in search of the opener. Their consistent efforts paid off early in the second half as Uruguaian goal poacher, Luis Suarez eventually gave them the lead. The introduction of team captain Andreas Iniesta seemed to sparked more life into the Barcelona side as they dominated the midfield and pressed the visitors continuously.
Barcelona seemed destined to coast home with the 3 maximum points as time ticked away.
However, Sergio Ramos had a different plan entirely as he made sure the points were shared. The veteran popped up in the 90th minute and notched a well placed thunderous header which gave the Barcelona keeper no chance.
With the scoreline, Real Madrid maintained their six points advantage over their eternal rivals as they hope to finally win their first La-liga crown after white a long time. The capital club also stretched their impressive unbeaten run to 32 matches across all competitions this season.
Both Cristiano Ronaldo and his direct rival for the Ballon D'or, Lionel Messi were unable to find the back of the net, as Luis Suarez scored the only goal for the homers before Sergio Ramos equalized in the death.
The two teams will be in action again in the Champions league, Barcelone will host Bayern Leverkusen at Camp Nou, while Real Madrid will also play host to their Champions league group table toppers Borrusia Dortmund at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu.
