AGGRESIVE CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS BEGINS IN ANAMBRA--OBIANO SAYS
With the rains gone, the administration of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State is making plans to embark on an aggressive construction of roads in the state in the coming weeks. This is to improve on the network of roads that have either been abandoned or dilapidated.
The governor disclosed this at the weekend during the thanksgiving service held at St. John's Church, Oko, to mark the 60th Birthday of Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwueme, the wife of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme Obiano said that contractors handling road projects across the state have already been mobilized to get to site, adding that with the rainy season coming to an end, works would soon commence on the roads. The governor noted that eight out of the twenty-seven investments his administration had attracted in the state totaling about 4.7 billion dollars were fully on ground, creating activities that have not only generated wealth but job opportunities for the people.
While felicitating with the celebrant, Mrs. Ekwueme, Governor Obiano described her as a great woman who at 60 has left no one in doubt as to her integrity.
