N1.8m recovered from kidnappers

Police in Delta state have recovered 1.800,000 after smashing a five-man kidnap gang led by a 30-years-old Joshua Ufuoma Okoh, aka Onos. Other members of the gang are Anthony Oren, the vigilante Chairman of Orhakpo community, Thankgod Okehperhie, Dennis[surname unknown now at large] and Clement Efanyobera. Okoh and three members of his gang were arrested with one Toyota Camry with registration number BEN 825 JA, one infinity Jeep marked EKY 870 DC and one Honda Accord with registration number  DSZ 183 DG. 

Among the exhibits were the victims and the gang's operational vehicles. The gang has abducted Mrs. Osayande Judith of number 30 Chris Mary street, Benin in Edo state, on Edjegba Road, Warri, before nemesis caught up with them last Wednesday, Operatives of SAKCCS Asaba stormed Ejewu community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta state and smoked Joshua out of his hideout. This came after the gang had collected N3 million naira as ransom. The state commissioner of police Zanna Ibrahim, paraded the suspects at the command headquarters in Asaba yesterday. He said: "The suspects confessed to the crime and following a thorough search of his house, 1.800,000 part of the 3million naira ransom collected before releasing the victim was recovered. The commissioner listed other items recovered from Joshua to include one pump automatic pump action gun, one double barrel gun and 13 live cartridges.
