AHEAD OF BYE-ELECTION, LAGOS PDP URGES UNITY

Lagos state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] Otunba Segun Adewale, has expressed worry that the party's chances in the coming by elections in Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency may be shaky bas recent activities of illegal faction in the party may jeopardize its chances in the election. Adewale said that all his efforts to reach an accord ahead of the bye-election with the  Markafi-led faction in the state had proved futile. Adewale  said: "I am concerned because i do not wish for events in Edo and Ondo, where our party fielded two different candidates for the same election to be repeated here in Lagos state. I am also concerned because we owe the good people of Ifako-Ijaiye federal constituency quality representation at the national assembly as enshrined in our party's manifesto. We can't afford to lose focus on the plight of our people just because of political party's internal affair that can be amicably resolved, if indeed our effort is geared towards provision of service to the people."
