ONDO GUBER, GROUP RAISES ALARM OVER FAKE OBSERVERS

Less than two weeks to the governorship election in Ondo State, a non governmental organization, Sunshine Mandate Forum[SMF], has raised alarm that fake election observers have flooded the state. The group, in a statement, alleged that the fake election observers have already been deployed to the three senatorial districts of the state and accommodated in choice hotels at the expense of two south-west state governors.

The statement signed by the groups coordinator, Barr, Thomas Akinade, alleged that the fake observers are not less than 10 and were deployed to discredit the outcome of the November, Governorship election in the state, should the candidate of the Alliance For Democracy[AD], Olusola Oke, lose the election. Akinade said, We are constrained to bring to the notice of the security agents, that paid, and unaccredited election observers have flooded Ondo State ahead of the  governorship election. This is alarmingly strange and preposterous as the motives of the masterminds of this mischievous act is to launch a smear campaign. We state without equivocation that these so-called election monitors have scattered across the three senatorial districts in the state, are on the payroll of two south-western governors, whose desire is to install a protege as governor of Ondo State in person of Olusola Ake of the AD. In clear terms, these fake and fictive observers have a mandate. It is to produce, conceive and widely circulate ill-motivated reports with the intention to discredit the outcome of the poll, and ostensibly precipitate violence. We therefore warn that those external forces whose intention is to create tension for reasons best known to them, to desist from such and allow the people of the state to elect their next governor. Ondo state is not an extension of their states just as the people's commonwealth and patrimony are for the good of the state, and not to be plundered or mortgaged  on the alter of political godfathers' benevolence.
